In reality we need very little sodium (salt) in our diet, and we can get all sweetness we need naturally from foods like fruits. But as we eat more fast foods, it is costing us in terms of our health, and the amount of the healthy foods we eat. Take a look at this scenario, eating a burger with fries does not provide you with any healthy green or orange vegetables, and an ice cream dessert, while it gives a little calcium from the milk used to make the ice cream, typically doesn’t have much, if any fruit in it, while it does have a lot of sugar.
You should know that you can eat to lose weight, but you do have to eat the right things, foods that are good for you and will enable your body to function better. The foods you need to be eating are the foods that you know you should eat, foods like fruits and vegetables, whole grain cereals, low fat meats, poultry, fish, and low fat dairy products. By consuming these food groups, we can change our diets from an unhealthy one of high cholesterol, to one that is much healthier for us - and it is possible to enjoy these foods.
When it comes to fruits, there are now far more choices for the fruits that we eat, thanks to the fruits that are imported from all over the world. We no longer just have apples and oranges along with any other home grown fruits, we have mangoes, and starfruit from India, mandarin oranges from China, and pineapples from Hawaii, and plenty of other fruits from other countries too. Actually, thanks to, the fast distribution system now in place, fruits arrive incredibly fresh and ready to eat. The same applies to vegetables obviously, although we tend not to get too excited about the new arrival of those!
If we are to eat well and lose weight , then we need to concentrate on these healthier foods, the fruits and the vegetables, along with the low fat meats, fish and poultry, but we also need to eat in moderation, something that most of us tend not to do. Our bodies have become used to large meals, larger than we actually need, so by reducing portion sizes slowly, and eating healthier choices, we will be able to make a huge impact on our health and our weight.
